Join us for the 4th Annual Great Naples Virtual Duck Race, hosted by the NCH Safe & Healthy Children's Coalition! This community-centered event is dedicated to keeping children in Collier County safe and healthy.
Childhood drowning rates in the U.S. steadily declined from 1999 to 2019, but have risen by 28% nationally since the pandemic, making drowning the leading cause of death for children ages 1–4 and the second for ages 5–14. With increased risks, especially among African American and Black children and teen boys, the need for water safety initiatives has never been greater.
In light of Sun N Fun Lagoon's indefinite closure, this year’s duck race will be held virtually. Participants can “adopt” a virtual rubber duck and race it across a digital waterway to support our mission and compete for prizes. Virtual gift bags from our sponsors and chances to win cash prizes of $1,000, $500, or $250 are included! Winners will be announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
For more details, visit the Great Naples Virtual Duck Race website or contact us at safeandhealthychildrencoalition@nchmd.org or (239) 624-4033.
When you adopt a duck, your name and the number of ducks you've adopted are stored in our E-Quack database. Each duck is assigned a unique tag number, which is shuffled and matched to adopters. If you adopted 5 ducks, your name will appear next to 5 tag numbers. A random number generator then selects the winning tags.
